✨ Thrilled to announce that my Decorative Signal Cabs have been long listed for the 2021 World Illustration Awards 2021 ✨
I am honoured to have the project included amongst incredible illustrators around the world and many thanks to the judges, The Association of Illustrators and Directory of Illustration, for long listing one my favourite works to date in the Design, Product & Packaging category. Many thanks to Hull City Council for commissioning the artwork during lockdown, allowing me to explore pattern in a new context.
The patterned designs on the cabs were sourced directly from the historic Beverley Road as an extension of the Doorstep project. Muted colour palettes were retained to stay sympathetic to the area and compliment their surroundings. The designs introduced colourful and locally relevant public art into the area – a much needed positive boost during the pandemic - whilst also reducing unsightly vandalism.
